This role first builds and operates the company's IT and infrastructure (hands-on, including operation engineer work); as the JV grows, local development also comes under this role.

These are the tasks awaiting you

Operations:

• Continuously monitoring the production (PROD) system and infrastructure on ServerCore (cloud/dedicated servers, Managed Kubernetes, Managed Database), with end-to-end operational ownership of the platform and its integrations

• Triaging and handling alerts, errors and anomalies following defined severity levels; documenting incidents and escalating based on business impact

• Performing post-incident root cause analysis; leading the resolution of major incidents; turning recurring issues into tracked backlog items with clear ownership

• Maintaining monitoring and alerting using ServerCore's tools; measuring and reporting SLA/SLO to the CTO

• Executing backup/restore and DR procedures, including regular DR drills and launch-readiness checks before major releases; maintaining change management and runbooks

• Patch and vulnerability management; investigating security events

• Participating in on-call duty according to policy

• Defining and ensuring the technical approach for local production operations, coordinating with Bank IT, security and compliance

Building & leadership:

• Establishing the JV's corporate IT and operations function from the ground up: processes, tools and operating model, including access management, endpoint and security policies, IT procurement and vendor management, onboarding/offboarding, and operational documentation

• Building the local IT team: hiring, onboarding, team composition; mentoring and directing the operation staff

• Representing the CTO locally; regular alignment with the Hungarian team and the CTO

• Initially focused on operations and building the IT function; as the team grows, taking on oversight of local development, with priorities and authority agreed with the CTO

We're looking for you if you have

• At least 5 years of operations / SRE experience on production, high-traffic systems, including coordination/leadership experience

• A proven ability to build an IT function and operations (processes, team, tools), ideally in a greenfield environment

• Routine in incident and change management; a systems-thinking, cost-conscious mindset

• Working proficiency in English (required), Russian and Uzbek

• Strong communication and autonomy; on-site work in Tashkent

You'll have an advantage if you have

• Deep experience with ServerCore services (cloud, Managed Kubernetes, Managed Database)

• Experience building corporate IT (identity, endpoint, M365/productivity tools)

• A development background or experience leading a development team (for the later development responsibility)

• ITIL knowledge

• People management experience; experience in international, distributed teams

• Experience at a listing or e-commerce company; experience in a startup environment

Work location: Tashkent, city center — primarily office-based (on-site).

Remote/hybrid is not suitable for the launch phase, given the close coordination required with developers, the Bank, IT, sales, marketing and operations.
